Blue Beetle enters James Gunn's new DC Universe

Blue Beetle is a superhero movie produced by DC Studios and Entertainment One. The movie is disconnected from the previous DCEU timeline and exists within the new DC Universe created by Peter Safran and James Gunn. The story is based on the popular DC Comics character Jaime Reyes aka Blue Beetle. The movie is directed by Angel Manuel Soto, a Puerto Rican filmmaker known forCharm City Kings.

Blue beetle first appeared in Fox Comics and was created by Charles Nicholas Wojtkoski. He is portrayed by American actor Xolo Mariduena, who is best known for his roles in Cobra Kai and Parenthood.
